  1. So that non French-speaking folks get a more in-depth enjoyment of that call,
and while it is true that FRANK LOUVRIER is indeed President SARKOZY’s Communications Advisor, JOHNY HALLIDAY, is not his Special American Advisor but the French equivalent of, let’s say… Elvis Presley.
    A great Rocker/Actor since the 50’s.

When talking about hunting, “Sarkozy” says to Palin “…on pourrait tuer des bébés phoques “, which means ” we could kill some baby seals “.

The “President” refers to Stef Carse, a Canadian Pop/Country singer, as the Prime Minister of Canada when, as most people tuned into the media would know, Steven Harper is the real Canadian PM.

“He” also mentions the Prime Minister of Québec (really Jean Charest) as being Richard Z. Sirois, a Canadian TV/Radio comedian.

Finally, the song that Carla Bruni-Sarkozy would have written about the Governor of Alaska is said to be titled “Du rouge à lèvres sur une cochonne” which, in French, translates as “Lipstick on a sow” but, in French slang, also means “Lipstick on a slut”.
    Vivre le double-entendre !
